Happy Thursday Grafton #stayandplaymoment lovers! Now that Grafton has their own Tourism Facebook Page, Visit Grafton WI, you’ll be seeing all weekly #stayandplaymoment posts coming from this page. Seems like a better fit if we do say so ourselves!

This week, we wanted to focus on a HOT tourism trend, which is involving your four-legged friend in your travel adventures. Did you know there’s a lot to do, and a place to stay in Grafton that accommodates your dog? If you didn’t, you will now! Lets get started!

First things first- when visiting Grafton, the best way to make your trip the ultimate #stayandplaymoment is by actually staying with us in Grafton! Our friends at TownePlace Suites Grafton are pet friendly, and offer plenty of space for you, your family or friends, and your fur baby! Be sure to check them out, and make your reservations through our website’s homepage at

No matter what the weather conditions are, our friends at Bentley’s Pet Stuff have just the right accessories for your dog to make sure they are comfortable, and in a position for some outdoor F.U.N.!! Bentley’s is also the perfect place to stop if you forgot treats, food, accessories like dog beds, bowls, and more. There’s so much to offer that we can assure you, you won’t want to leave! Be sure to check out their sales, specials, and events by following them on Facebook.

Now, on to some outdoor adventures with your dog! We’ve got some great suggestions you’ll want to keep in mind. Our Special Events and Tourism Promotion Director’s favorite place to take her dog is Lion’s Den Gorge Nature Preserve. Any kind of weather, Lion’s Den is the perfect place to go! Wide walking trails, surrounded by beauty and nature… It’s a great place for you and your dog to go for a walk or run, and enjoy the outdoor atmosphere. This park does require a leash, so be sure to bring one along. Another great place that we recommend is Muttland Meadows right here in Grafton. This dog park is fenced in and is considered a leash-less park. This is a great place to bring your pup after a long day of travel. Let them run a muck, and drain all of their built up energy! Donations to the park for upkeep and maintenance are encouraged but not required.

We hate to even think it, but sometimes unforeseen circumstances can arise during travel. If your pet injures themselves, or becomes ill on your trip to Grafton, we want you to know that you’re in good hands! Our friends at Best Friends Veterinary Center – Grafton, WI offer the best and latest technology and forms of medicine for your dog. Be sure to call ahead or check their website for open hours before coming to the clinic.

Well, that’s all for this week’s #stayandplaymoment friends! Be sure to “like” and follow our new Grafton Tourism Facebook Page, Visit Grafton WI! Until next time folks!
